Pointed View

workplace bullyingWelcome to our new feature where viewers can put their questions directly to key BBC Scotlandshire staff, and get direct responses to their concerns.

Today, your questions will be answered by Head of News and Current Affairs, Johnny Bossyman.

Dear Pointed View,

I was watching Newsnicht on the day that the referendum date was announced. The graphic backdrop seemed a little one-sided. Can you make sure this doesn't happen in future?

Yours

Askin Nicely (Mrs)

Bossyman replies

Dear Askin Mrs

newsnicht

You've got a bloody strange surname! Your man must be Mr Mrs, and I bet everyone laughs at him as well.

I presume you mean this backdrop?

You are absolutely correct that it is a little one sided! I fired the Graphics Editor when I saw that. If you look very closely at the picture, you can just make out wee bits of the word "Yes" in 3 different places.

They will never appear again, and none of my staff will ever allow anything on separation to appear that isn't completely one-sided.

Bossyman

Dear Pointed View,

I've noticed that Gordon Brewer always gets very red faced, sweaty and excited every time he interviews Nicola Sturgeon. He can't help squirming in his seat, adjusting his trousers and constantly ejaculating comments.

naafi teaIs there a reason for this odd behaviour?

Yours

Angie Noo

Bossyman replies

Dear Ms Noo

I'm afraid Gordon sometimes takes instructions a bit too literally.

It seems he misunderstood my admonition to him to "get fu**ing into these separatists".

He is now having bromide added to his tea to calm him down a bit.

Dear Pointed View,

Sometimes, when I see reporting Scotlandshire, there seems to be a significant degree of political bias in the reporting.

When Alex Salmond announced the figures for the new oil boom, Jackie Bird said "The SNP are resurrecting the slogan 'It's Scotland's Oil'.", but then added "Though that's debateable."

Is that responsible journalism?

Yours

Blair Jenkins

Bossyman replies

Dear Jenkins,

bbc mottoAre you whining again? You have been told time and time again about this.

The BBC motto is "Nation shall speak peace unto nation". You Nats are just a piece of a nation, so it's war on your sort.

The British people have elected only right wing Governments for the last 34 years, so that is the "setted will" of the British people. That's democracy, and BBC Scotlandshire has a duty to support the democratic choice of the British people, whether they want it or not.

We are British, Jackie is very British. Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of separatism and all the odious apparatus of Nationalist rule, we shall not flag or fail.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Falkirk, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.

Bossyman
